IMMEDIATE RELEASE PINELLAS- Pinellas County Utilities encourages residents throughout Pinellas County to recycle their old newspaper and aluminum cans either by placing them in their recycling bin or bringing them to recycling drop-off centers throughout the County. The State of Florida sets recycling goals for each county to meet, and Pinellas County Utilities needs your help to meet our goal. You may recycle to conserve resources, but you may not understand exactly how the process works. For Pinellas County Utilities and our partner cities to have a successful recycling program, the following things must happen:
When we recycle something completely, recycling becomes a loop that benefits everyone over and over. Right now, we need newspaper and soda cans the most. Remanufacturers use the aluminum from old beverage cans to make new beverage cans, and your old newspaper becomes new newspaper or, in some cases, paperboard (think cereal boxes and you've got the idea). For residents throughout Pinellas County who do not have curbside recycling, Pinellas County Utilities maintains a list of recycling centers throughout the County. To get a copy of this list, please visit our web site at http://utility.co.pinellas.fl.us or call (727) 464-4000. |
